It seems that next year the fate of famous “Books” buildings in Novy Arbat Street will be determined. In December, the authorities placed on auction two houses of four: number 11 and 15 — with a total starting price of 5.3 billion rubles. Bidding is expected on February, 27. 

According to media reports, another «Book» won’t be placed on auction, but sold through a public offer. Due to Khusnullin’s previous interview, these buildings are «completely out of date, both physically and morally”. But still the issue of theirs demolition is not considered. Maybe the buildings will be reconstructed into hotels to accommodate the tourists that will come to the World Cup in 2018.
